I'm Thankful for Clean Water.

There is a cholera outbreak in a province in Mozambique.
The death toll has reached 60 with hundreds more hospitalized.
Many are under the age of 14.
This is all due to unclean drinking water.

Upon reading about this outbreak it reminded me of when I had to worry about the water I drank while living there...thinking twice when I ordered 'ice' with my coke. Having to use a water bottle to brush my teeth...not using public water fountains when I ran.

I don't have to even think twice about that here & now. I don't know that I have until I read this in the news...& since it is that time of year where we think more about what we are thankful for, I am reminded how blessed I am just to have safe water to drink. The simple things in life that I take for granted...the daily, mundane things in life that if they were taken away would be greatly missed within moments.

I am thankful that I can drink tap water,
brush my teeth w/o a water bottle,
& shower w/o worrying about swallowing some water...
