GORONGOSA NATIONAL PARK
MOZAMBIQUE, AFRICA
Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique was once among the top destinations in Africa in the 1960's, perhaps the best wildlife park in all of Africa with an abundance of both animals & tourists. That was before Gorongosa Park was ravaged by years of civil war & poachers. This story is about an American entrepreneur, Greg Carr, who hopes to revive the park to its past glory and in doing so, lift the people in Mozambique out of poverty.
Greg Carr founded VOICEMAIL when he was 25 years old & sold it for $200 million! He is now using his money for charity & improving life for those in Mozambique.
Below is a clip from 60 minutes about Greg Carr's mission to restore this national safari park & how it will help Mozambique. It is under 10 minutes and so inspiring!
I hope you will watch! The scenery is breathtaking!
The Gregory C. Carr Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 whose program activities are dedicated to the environment, human rights, and the arts. The Foundation has established a variety of projects in the U.S. and internationally. They now focus their efforts in Southern Africa where we are teaming with the government of Mozambique to protect and restore Gorongosa National Park and to ensure the well being of the communities living near the park.
