Pascoal-21 yrs, goes to school, helps w/ boys dorm, helps w/ worship team (sound, drums)
Valdimar-22 yrs, finished with school, plays guitar on the IRIS worship team
Tomorrow (Tuesday) Daisy & a missionary couple from IRIS will take Pascoal and Valdimar to the US Embassy at 8:00am SHARP! They have an appointment with the US Consulate to try and get a visa to come to the USA. The plan is for them to fly back with Daisy when she leaves next Monday, Nov.5! They would then go to Texas with her and stay in the US until June and then come back to Mozambique with the Beltway team on their short term mission trip! In the past it has been extremely hard for young, Mozambican men to get a visa. They are usually told that they need to stay in Moz. and find a Moz. wife, and that they have no business going to the USA. Valdimar was denied to go to Kansas to visit IHOP (not pancake house, but the International House of Prayer). He has been to several other countries though. Pascaol has never been out of Moz. The GOOD news is that Mozambique JUST got a new US consulate a few weeks ago and has already granted 2 young men with visas to the US. Norberto (one of Heidi's original kids off the street, now 27 yrs) is in the States now and will hopefully come speak in Abilene if Pascoal & Valdimar make it! Please PRAY for these 2 young men tomorrow, that they will have favor with the US Consulate and that they will be granted their visa to the good ol' USA! Many people have been working very hard on paperwork to get these guys over to the US. They are trying not to get their hopes up, because they know how difficult it is to get a visa here, but they are so excited to be "Texan"!! They are GREAT guys and you will be so blessed to meet & know them! Basically, they will check in at 8am and wait until their name is called. The interview is short & sweet and it can be over as soon as it starts...with a yes or no! The new consulate is a younger woman (30's) and is supposedly a Christian. She was very positive and excited for Norberto going to the US so pray that she will have the same enthusiasm with Valdimar and Pascoal. We want BOTH of them to be able to come! Thanks for all your prayers & support. I know God hears you and He answers! Thank you for being a part of what I am doing here in Mozambique. I COULD NOT do it without your prayers and support! Blessings & more blessings to you! Lots of Love, Lindsay
We are praying for favor (3 more hours!!)....already prayers about a new consulate have been answered! As much as Vademar & Pascoal will discover about our country, i expect that we will be the beneficiaries of greater discovery as we get to know them and see the great faith and great obstacles that these two young men have experienced because they happened to be born in Africa instead of North American. And yet, God is knitting our life with theirs....what does He have in mind??

so they are in Abilene! Jim flew in with them from Dallas and talked to both guys. He came home and told me there were two guys from Mozambique that just arrived in the states and that people met them at the airport waving Texas flags. I told him that your mom was probably there but he didn't see her. It's a small, small world!
ReplyDeleteHope your world is going good for you.
