Mozambique Musings: My Sunda-isy

Clever title I thought, it is Sunday & my dear friend Daisy arrived in Maputo today! I was able to go to the airport to pick her up with the IRIS missionaries! I was super excited to see a familiar face! I had to hold back my tears of joy! She came with a friend of hers, Kelly. I am so glad they are here. I rode back to the orphanage with them & spent the afternoon with them and the kids. We got back in time to eat lunch at the center, rice and topping! It was actually my favorite topping today, noodles! :) It was so good to be back at the center. I love it there! We gave Kelly the 'tour' of the place and had many hugs from the children. We played pool with Valdimar & John Jacob. Me & V won! Valdimar did a good job of 'coaching' and telling me what ball to hit and where to hit it! (We had lost a few weeks ago to JJ so we were glad to redeem ourselves!) I got to see my precious Estevao (Steven) and play with the little ones. They liked my sunglasses. Yes, I know, they are kinda big! I only stayed a few hours and then had to head back home for dinner. Our art teacher for CAM arrived on the same plane as Daisy and we had a welcoming dinner for her! Four of my 'bodyguards' took me back on a chapa. We made it safe & sound. They are so protective, it's cute. Two of them are 'dating' sisters as of 2 weeks ago so I heard ALL about it on the way home. The girls are from Denmark tho...so don't know how that will work out, but they are excited nonetheless! I will be heading back to the center this weekend to spend more time with Daisy & Kelly before they leave :(
